BURGLAR ARRESTED AFTER REMOVING COPPER PIPING FROM HOUSE

On August 23, 2017 at approximately 1829 hours, Lt. Mark Gillies and P.O. Greg Mulawka responded to a report of a suspicious male party on a bicycle.  Patrol located the male party, identified as Shawn Todd, 46, of Hackensack carrying a Dewalt drill and numerous pieces of cut copper piping.  These items were seized as evidence pending further investigation.

 

On August 24, 2017, a follow-up investigation by Patrol and the Detective Bureau revealed a residential burglary had occurred on Coles Street where copper piping was cut out and removed from the basement area, along with a Dewalt drill. 

 

Mr. Todd responded to Headquarters and was subsequently placed under arrest by Det. Jason Liaban for burglary and theft.  He was transported to the Bergen County Jail pending his CJP Court date.
