K9 ZOEY RETIRES FROM THE MAYWOOD POLICE DEPARTMENT

K-9 Zoey is officially retired! Zoey was honored on the evening of Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at the Borough of Maywood's Mayor and Council meeting, along with her handler P.O. Chris Nichols, for her years of service and dedication to the Borough of Maywood and beyond. K-9 Zoey was the first Bloodhound in the history of Bergen County Law Enforcement.

 

Throughout her career, K-9 Zoey participated in over 400 investigations involving missing persons & criminal suspects, and more than 100 community presentations. She did her job and she did it well.

 

Congratulations to K-9 Zoey. In addition to her hard work, we thank her for the smiles and slobber she brought to the department! Zoey will enjoy her retirement alongside Officer Nichols and his family.

P.O. Nichols will continue to spearhead the Maywood Police Department's K-9 Unit with K-9 Remi, a two year old bloodhound who has been active with department for the past year.
