WEST PLEASANT AVE COMMERCIAL BURGLARIES ARREST
The Maywood Police Department arrested Mark C. Todd, 43, of Hackensack, NJ on burglary and theft related charges. The arrest was a result of an investigation conducted by members of the Maywood Police Department’s Detective Bureau.
On September 13, 2016, the Maywood Police Department received a report of two commercial burglaries and three attempted commercial burglaries that occurred overnight on West Pleasant Avenue. The suspect burglarized the Dance Center and Union Tax Inc. on West Pleasant Avenue and stole cash and electronics from inside the two businesses. The suspect also attempted to force entry to the rear doors of Kathie’s Gifts, Coronet Variety Store and Mario’s Pizza.
Subsequent investigation by the Maywood Police Department’s Detective Bureau and information received from other police agencies led to Mr. Todd being charged with two counts of Burglary, three counts of Attempted Burglary and two counts of Theft. Todd is being held at the Bergen County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court.
These charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
