9.18.2015 - SUPECT ARRESTED AFTER POINTING HANDGUN AT FORMER BOSS

On September 12, 2015 at 9:45 pm, Maywood officers responded to a West Pleasant Avenue business for a report of a robbery. The owner was closing the business for the evening when he was confronted by a masked man with a handgun. The victim ran into another nearby business and the suspect fled the scene without any proceeds.

Detectives Liaban and Parodi conducted an investigation which led to the arrest of Sammy H. Fayez 28, of Saddle Brook. Fayez, an ex-employee of the business, had recently been fired. An imitation firearm, believed to have been used in the incident, was recovered by Detectives at his residence.

Mr. Fayez was remanded to the Bergen County Jail and bail was set at $52,500. He faces numerous charges including aggravated assault with a firearm, terroristic threats and several weapons possession charges.

Special thanks to the Saddle Brook PD who assisted with the investigation.
