3.8.2016 - HACKENSACK MAN ARRESTED TWICE IN TWO WEEKS FOR DRUG POSSESSION
The Maywood Police Department arrested George Giumarra Jr., 61, of Hackensack, twice in the past two weeks for drug related charges.
Officer Peter Donatello conducted a traffic stop on February 25th and arrested Mr. Giumarra Jr. after he was found to be in possession of numerous oxycodone pills and heroin. Mr. Giumarra Jr. was charged with being in possession of oxycdone with intent to sell, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On March 8th, Officer Erik Aronson stopped Mr. Giumarra Jr. for a motor vehicle violation. While speaking with him, officers observed that he was concealing a bag of suspected crack cocaine in his mouth. Mr. Giumarra Jr. refused to comply with their orders to spit the bag out. When the officers attempted to retrieve the bag of suspected cocaine, Mr. Giumarra Jr. swallowed the bag and resisted their control. During the struggle, one officer received minor injuries. Mr. Giumarra Jr. was arrested for tampering with evidence, resisting arrest with violence, aggravated assault on a police officer and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center for evaluation.
