Burglary Arrest
1/5/12 - On
December 30, 2011 at 2:11 a.m., the Maywood Police Department received a 9-1-1
call from a Grant Avenue
resident reporting an intruder in her home. When Patrol arrived, they discovered
an open first floor window on the side of the home. A search of the surrounding
area and the home provided negative results for any actor. Nothing was taken
from the home, but the actor had dropped his cellular telephone while inside the

A further
investigation by the Maywood Police Department’s Detective Bureau revealed that
the owner of the cellular telephone was Luis Paulino of
New York City.
Paulino is believed to have been visiting with a local resident, Damian Madrid,
also of Grant Avenue
in Maywood.
An arrest
warrant was issued for Paulino for burglary and Madrid
for conspiracy to commit burglary. On January 2, 2012,
Madrid
was arrested and remanded to the Bergen County Jail on $10,000.00 bail. On
January 5, 2012, Paulino was arrested and also remanded to the Bergen County
Jail on $10,000.00 bail.

jewelry store burglary
12/28/11 -
The Maywood Police Department is investigating a smash and grab burglary that
occurred at Another Facet Jewelry Store located at 150B
West Pleasant Avenue. On Tuesday, December 27, 2011
at approximately 7:53 P.M., two male parties smashed the display window with an
unknown object and removed a jewelry display. The store’s surveillance video
system showed the crime committed by the two parties, who appear to have been
operating a silver mini-van type vehicle.
Anyone who can identify the two parties in the surveillance
photographs shown below or have information in reference to this incident, are
asked to contact the Maywood Police Department’s Detective Bureau at

mpd investigating bias crime at temple
12/12/11
- On Sunday, December 11, 2011, members of the Temple Beth
Israel, located at 34 West Magnolia Avenue, found their Temple targeted with
anti-semitism images. These images were sprayed with red and black spray paint
and were found by the front entrance to the Temple. The Maywood Police
Department is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
